Immogo moves to a new server

In the past week, Immogo has moved to a new server, which should make the site load much faster. This is good for our Google ranking. Earlier this year we added a new Russian version to Immogo. At the same time, we found three Russian native speakers for our translator team. Among the three of them, they can work from the source languages English, French, Dutch and German.

In the near future more changes are expected. Among others, we’ve asked the design team of the Dutch advertising agency ONyVA to make e fresh new design. Also, we’ll add several new

Attract French, Dutch and German buyers with a good property translation

immowords logo - Property Translations German French DutchIf you want to sell your property in France, you can augment your chances with an international advert on free as well as paid sites in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and of course the UK. International advertising is especially interesting if you are selling a typical ‘holiday home’, coveted by foreign buyers.

To make the property description equally attractive in all languages, you can’t rely on online translation robots. They sometimes lead to crazy results, that will make your offer look less reliable.* The new translation site Immowords caters to this need. The site works

“We take the commission from the buyer.” Yeah, right.

Apart from trying to find buyers for the owners advertising on our site Immogo, I’m also selling my own house. Just now, I received the following email:

I have noticed your advertisement and maybe you would like to have a look on our side nameofpropertysite.com. We have a lot of potential buyers manly from the uk and other european countries and we are providing a wide range of publicity. There are no costs for you as we take the commission from the buyer and we do not work exclusiv. So you are still free to sell your property alone or with other agences. If you like to benefit from our knowlegde and support do not hesitate to contact me via…

I wonder why the property agents (or their Agents Commerciaux) keep using the same blatant lie: “There are no costs for you as

Sell through Immogo? Make sure you have a clear arrangement with your ‘agent immobilier’.

French property agents and their UK intermediaries are not fond of Immogo. We support the private seller in his quest to find a private buyer. And of course it irks them to see we only ask 1% whereas they – with their more comprehensive services and bigger risks (hence expensive insurance policies) have to ask 5 or 6%. Please be aware that if Immogo finds your buyer, the 1% is always due. Even if you let your broker handle the transaction.

The history of Immogo

Being the first of a new concept in property advertising, Immogo had to surmount quite some opposition, namely from the french property agents. The founder, gregor Hakkenberg, had to fight a law suit, suffer a defeat, get back up for the subsequent appeal to finally celebrate the victory. Gregor described his tribulations in an old blog that he just took offline. This gives us the opportunity to republish this interesting story here:

Lundi 17 mars 2008
