The domain basically consists of the brook valley and the hills, rising from both sides of the brook, with stone oaks, Nordic oaks, maple trees, ask trees, some pines and lime trees. The fertile meadows in the valley are suitable for having vegetable and flower gardens. Surrounding the house we find some more verandas and sitting places.
Behind the house, at the height of the second floor, we find the reconstructed water basin, originally for the mill, with sun deck, just a few strides from a free-standing sauna with Finish wood burner. Between the house and the creek there is a well, supplying the water for the community, with the additional water flowing to the creek. The pool and the garden can easily be watered from the well with the help of a submersible pump.
The central heating with wood burner and the fireplace in the lounge enable heating the home at any time of the year, as much as you want. The roof has partly been insulated. Further insulating the roof and modernising the windows can produce an even greater reduction in energy use. The house is fitted with an installation for collecting and treating the waste water.
About 8 ha of the land is leased to a sheep breeder. Under the current legal provisions, the lease contract could be terminated in late 2022.
The costs for waste disposal, water supply, taxes, telephone connection and internet are about 1,400 euros per year.
